…Consolidates On Inter Agency Collaboration
The Comptroller of Immigration Service(NIS) Bayelsa State Command James Sunday has paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State,His Excellency Sen.Douye Diri to appreciate him and his government for the continued support since he assumed office as the governor of the state.
The Comptroller also said that the visit was to thank the governor for the tremendous supports received he gave his predecessor
Recalled that the Bayelsa State NIS Comptrollers had also gone round formations under his Command and visited sister security and response agencies, sharing common ideas and aligning for synergy.
The courtesy call on the governor, he said is to consolidate on the various inter agency collaboration that has brought relative peace to Bayelsa State
He added that it has also created enabling business environment through issuance of relevant entry and departure passes, offshore monitoring of activities of crews and their passengers berthing on the Nigeria’s blue border on international waterways and inland waterways of Bayelsa and those on land in the employment of companies, organisations and hotel inspections and monitoring within the state capital and its environs among others,
He said that the state has just completed its screening and clearance for the 2022 Christian pilgrims in which the NIS played vital role in the screening exercise both to ascertain that the right calibre of persons gets the Nigerian passport and travel for Holy Pilgrimage and return without absconding.
The Comptroller said that as a member of the Bayelsa State Security Council shares intelligence when and where necessary for the continuous growth and development of Bayelsa State and Nigeria in general.
He added that Bayelsa being a Coastal state, NIS have operatives offshore and in the Joint Task Force supporting the military especially the Army and Navy in the keeping of safe corridor in the Niger Delta and on the blue border bordering Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta states in the South South without compromising national security.
The Executive Governor Senator Douye Diri expressed his gratitude on behalf of his government and the good people of Bayelsa for the roles played by Nigeria Immigration Service in Bayelsa State promising to collaborate in the area of investment drive and enhancing a prosperous Bayelsa through Foreign Direct Investments(FDI) and invitation of genuine foreign investors to come an invest in Bayelsa.
The governor noted that NIS has a prime role to play to encourage the visitors and make Bayelsa a most preferred destination.
