
…Hands Over Airline’s Aircraft Investigation To NCAA
The Accident Investigation Bureau, Nigeria (AIB-N) said that its initial findings from the download of the aircraft’s Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of Boeing 737-300 aircraft with nationality and registration marks 5N-BUQ, operated by Air Peace Ltd, revealed that the aircraft experienced a burst tyre during taxing.
This is just as the Bureau said it has ceded investigation to Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), as the occurrence falls under incidence.
Recall that Air Peace a Boeing 737-300 aircraft had a burst tyre at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport(MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos on Monday, March 8, 2021 while taxing from the 18 Right runway to the 18 Left; domestic runway of the airport.
“Initial findings made by the Accident Investigation Bureau, Nigeria (AIB-N) following a download of the aircraft’s Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) revealed that the aircraft experienced a burst tyre during taxing,” AIB-Nigeria said.
AIB-Nigeria said that since the occurrence falls under the category of incident, it has ceded the investigation to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), advising that further enquiries on this occurrence should be addressed to the NCAA forthwith.
