The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo -Olu has approved the full re-opening of both food markets and non food markets in the state .
With the governor’s approval, markets are now to open daily as obtained before the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.
The re-opening of Lagos markets is contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr Wale Ahmed yesterday , explained that Sanwo-Olu took the decision to further enhance trade and commerce and mitigate the hardship of recent times and ensure that residents can recover fast.
The statement further stated that Sanwo-Olu however, advised operators to continue to observe all safety protocols to prevent possible resurgence of the pandemic in the state.
Traders and their customers, Sanwo-Olu also advised must adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols for their safety and the citizenry at large.
AbelNews recalled markets in the state were shut due to the outbreak of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic close eight months ago but were subsequently, reopened partially on alternative days.
