Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has promoted another batch of 8,999 officers.
This is just as the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Muhammad Babandede, urged officers and men not only to remain disciplined but to also be committed to their duties and exhibit absolute loyalty to the country.
According to a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (DCI), Sunday James, the results of the 2019 promotion exercise which was released on September 28, 2020 and it brings the number of personnel so far promoted to 8,999 personnel amidst digitization of service activities
The list according to the NIS spokesman comprises officers from the ranks of Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (DCI) to Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII), as approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Board (CDCFIB), through a letter referenced CDCFIB/NIS/DTS/CORR/503/VOL.1/157 and dated September 25, 2020.
Recalled that NIS had earlier decorated 100 senior officers, 3,548 junior officers and 118 converted officers on August 5, 2020.
This recent promotion brings the total number of promoted NIS personnel in 2019 to 8,999.

Meanwhile, Babandede has congratulated all promoted officers, reiterating that the promotion was to re-energise the beneficiaries toward the discharge of their task and responsibilities in line with the mandate of the Service.
He congratulated the affected personnel while addressing officers and men of the Service across the country and those in Missions abroad today, during the Comptroller General’s monthly parade which was conducted virtually from the NIS Headquarters.
The CGI addressed them on the on-going developmental activities and reforms in NIS which include among others: digitization of Service activities, release of 2019 promotion and directive to decorate all the promoted officers immediately and the need for officers and men across the board to maintain high level of discipline, commitment to their duties and absolute loyalty to the nation and the Service in their day to day activities.
