Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and an aspirant in the forthcoming Senatorial election in Lagos East, Rt Hon. Jokotola Pelumi has urged Muslim faithfuls to use the occasion of the Eid El-Kabir to diligently hold firm to the lessons of sacrifice, perseverance, love, tolerance and loyalty to friends.
In his Eid El-Kabir message, he personally signed, he also used the opportunity to canvass for efforts at reducing the Coronavirus pandemic by observing all the preventive measures approved by the government.
According to him, “This annual celebration is here again to remind us of the test, victory, loyalty, belief in Allah and determination of the sacrifice of Prophet Ibraheem and his total obedience to Allah to sacrifice his son.
“Therefore as we join other Muslim faithfuls in observing this great celebration, let us diligently hold firm to the lessons of sacrifice, perseverance, love, tolerance, steadfastness, and loyalty to our friends, family, neighbours, colleagues and government at large. Let us remember that it is through Allah’s mercy that we are alive today,”
He maintained that the hallmark of this solemn festival as exemplified by the Prophet of God ( Peace be upon Him) is total love for Allah is for us
to adhere to all the rules and regulations of flattening the curve of this deadly pandemic by using our face masks , observance of social distancing and stay at home if we do not have anything serious to do outside our homes.
“I wish you all a Coronavirus free Eid-Adha celebration. May Allah Accept our Sacrifices and prayers as an act of ibadah,” he prayed.
