
As the June 21 date for the reopening of the Nigerian airspace as s announced on Monday by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.draws near, critical players in the country’s aviation industry will on Thursday, June 18, 2020 deliberate on the strategic responses to the present challenges facing the sector.
A statement signed by the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), stated that six panelists would deliberate extensively on the negative impact of COVID-19 pandemic in the global aviation industry with focus on Nigeria and the necessary strategies to be adopted to remain afloat and profitable in the new order at a Webinar to be organised by the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC).
According to LAAC the panelists includes: the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Agency (NCAA), Capt. Musa Nuhu, Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Capt. Rabiu Yadudu, Commissioner/CEO Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Engr. Akin Olateru, the Group Managing Director, Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) Plc, Mrs. Olatokunbo Fagbemi, Chairman, Air Peace Ltd, Mr. Allen Onyema and the President of Aviation Roundtable (ART), Dr. Gabriel Olowo.
The stated that the panelists would speak extensively on the the various segments of the sector which they represent would need to remain in business.
Besides, the panelists would also share progressive ideas on how the global aviation industry especially in Nigeria could gradually recover from impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and return to the era of growth.
The LAAC 2020 Webinar meeting with the theme, “Nigeria’s Aviation Industry: Changing Times, Changing Strategies,’ was carefully chosen by LAAC.
Apart from the panelists, no fewer than 250 other industry stakeholders and professionals in different segments would participate at the Webinar meeting, which starts at 11am.
