FG Impounds Flair Aviation Aircraft For Operating Commercial Flights Into Nigeria

The Federal Government through the Ministry of Aviation has impounded an aircraft operated by Flair Aviation; a United Kingdom based Aviation Company for operating a commercial flight contrary to the humanitarian operations it was approved to operate into Nigeria.

Aviation Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika, who made this known on his official twitter handle, said that the crew of the flight is also under interrogation, as there shall be maximum penalty for the offence.

‘COVID-19, Flair Aviation, a UK company, was given approval for humanitarian operations but regrettably we caught them conducting commercial flights. This is callous! The craft is impounded, crew being interrogated. There shall be maximum penalty. Wrong time to try our resolve,” the Minister said in his twitter handle; @hadisirika.

Recalled that Nigerian airspace was shot for both local and international flights to prevent spread of COVID-19  pandemic except for  essential flights such as  humanitarian, emergency operations  .
