Police Arrest Funke Akindele For Violating Social Distancing Order
…May Declare Husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, Naira Marley, Others Wanted If
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Funke Akindele for violating Social Distancing order by organising a birthday party at Amen Estate along Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos in honour of her husband Abdul Rasheed Bello
The Command has also threatened to declare Abdul Rasheed Bello, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley and others, who were attended the birthday party on Saturday in honour of Funke’s husband wanted if they fail to report themselves on Monday for interrogation.
Meanwhile, Funke had since apologized using her twitter handle.
The actress was thoroughly criticised on social media (Instagram) today after videos of the birthday party went viral.
Recalled that Funke Akindele , who also features in “Jenifa Diary” was engaged by the government and private companies to help propagate the social distancing campaign aimed at combating the pandemic.
While apologising, Funke Akindele said that all those who attended the party had been staying in the Amen Estate for days and weeks as part as a result of the lockdown.

“Funke Akindele was arrested. Investigation is ongoing, efforts are intensified to arrest the remaining persons in the video, among whom are Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley and Abdul Rasheed Bello a.k.a. JJC Skillz.
“They are in their best interests urged to report at the State CID Yaba on Monday 6th April, 2020 or risk being declared wanted,” the statement reads in part.
The Lagos Infection Diseases Regulations 2020 (the Regulations) prescribes a jail term of one month or N100,000 fine or both for persons found guilty of hosting gatherings or flouting the lockdown order.
