European Union (EU) has commenced the evacuation of the second batch of its national totaling 238 from Nigeria over Coronavirus.
The evacuation flight is considered as one of the essential and humanitarian operations approved by the Federal Government.
The evacuation is coming after the first batch of 399 EU nationals were earlier airlifted from the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos using an Air France Boeing 777-300ER which departed at 1:56pm.
This bring total number of EU nationals evacuated to 637 .
Presently, European Union(EU) has commenced the evacuation of 238 nationals from Nigeria using the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
The EU nationals that makes up the second batch of 238 are from Germany and where were seen at Lagos Airport earlier going through screening procedure and departed at 1546hrs on a Lufthansa Airbus A350 flight LH9856 which arrived Lagos 12:29 pm to take them and other EU nationals to Munich.
Recalled that Nigeria’s biggest carrier, Air Peace evacuated about 274 Israelis from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to Israel’s major city, Tel-Aviv.
The flight, which airlifted 65 passengers from Lagos and 209 passengers from Abuja, is a Boeing 777-300 with registration number 5N-BWI.
