…As AIB Confirms Notification
A Bell 412 EP helicopter operated by Caverton Helicopters with registration number, 5N-BVM, on Sunday lost an engine mid-air with passengers onboard.
The helicopter was said to have departed FSO and was heading to Meren when the aircraft had the incident and that incident rotary aircraft was compelled to land in Escravos, Warri, Delta State.
Though, AbelNews could not ascertain the cause of the incident but sources close to the operator of the helicopter that the machine landed safely at Escravos.
The General Manager, Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Nigeria, Tunji Oketunbi, confirmed the incident .
He added that Caverton Helicopters, the operator of he aircraft has notified AIB of the incident and that the incident was under review.
“Yes. AIB got the notification from Caverton. We are reviewing the occurrence and we will take a position shortly.”
