Medview Airline Resumes Flight Operations This Week


…As Carrier’s Boeing 737-500 Aircraft Arrives Lagos


Barring any unforeseen circumstance, Med-View Airline will this week resume flight operations to its old routes.

The resumption of flight is coming few weeks after the airline suspended its services due to lack of equipment.

Abelnews learnt that one of its aircraft, a Boeing 737-500 with the registration number: 5N-BQM arrived the Murtala Muhammed Airport Two (MMA2), Lagos today from Abuja Airport via the Kaduna International Airport.

The online platform also learnt that the aircraft’s engine was last week replaced in Abuja by a company in Tokyo in preparation to commence operations this week.

The aircraft, which departed Kaduna International Airport, landed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos at 5pm today.

Recalled that the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Med-View Airline, Mr. Michael Ajigbotoso, had about two weeks ago stated that the airline would re-commence flight operations in few weeks time.

Ajigbotoso had also stated that the airline, which is the only Nigerian airline on the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) temporarily, suspended operations due to lack of equipment.

He assured then that the management had made concrete arrangements to return to some of its old routes in the country, adding that the airline’s action was in compliance with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) (A), adding that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) was aware of its current status.

The COO also stated that some of its aircraft that  went for maintenance checks would return to service very soon.

The airline, the COO stated would return to service stronger despite the recent challenge in operations, assuring that safety and comfort of its passengers are still paramount to its operations.

He commended the staff of the organisation for their commitment and sustained belief in the airline despite the recent operational challenges.

According to him,  “We appreciate the staff for their commitment in spite of the little operational challenges, which we believe are the hallmark of any business. Businesses have their high and low moments and I can tell you we are surmounting the challenges. We are coming back soon bigger and better.

“Also, to our numerous customers, we want to tell you that the best is yet to come. We have done it before, making the nation proud at the domestic, regional and international fronts. We have been consistent with our hajj operations in the past 14 years. We remain the only carrier to have done that successfully.

“We want to assure you that as soon as our aircraft return from the scheduled maintenance, we will begin to provide the excellent and safe flight services, which we are known for and maintained since the commencement of our operations.”
