…Kills Police Escorts
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Irrua Teaching Hospital, Irrua, Edo State, Prof. Sylvanus Okogbeni has been kidnapped by some dare devil kidnappers.
Abelnews learnt that the two mobile policemen attached to him were fatally wounded and now in a life threatening state.
The online platform also gathered that the incident happened this afternoon at Ramat Park, Ikpoba Hill in Benin City.
Abelnews learnt that the professor, who was returning to Benin from Irrua with his security escort, was attacked by some vicious and deadly gunmen, who overtook his vehicle and suddenly opened fire.
The gunmen were said to have come in two cars; a Lexus jeep and a Toyota Voltron
Eye witnesses said that the Jeep was driven by a young female, who was said to be the leader of the gang and who also dishing out orders to the men in the group to open fire.
The eye witnesses added that the two mobile policemen were first gun down before they finally abducted the CMD to unknown destination.
The eye witnesses stated that after successfully abducting the CMD, the abductors allegedly shot sporadically into the air to scare members of the public.
As the hoodlums shoot sporadically, people were said to have ran for their lives to avoid been hit by stray bullets.
However, as at the time of compiling this report, no contact for ransom has been made from the kidnappers to the family members.
The Edo Police Public Relations Officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the development, also stated that investigations into the incident had commenced.
He added that the policemen were killed by suspected gunmen, who also abducted the CMD.
