Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Aviation Security (AVSEC) has arrested two officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) attached to the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos for  allegedly attempting to traffic six underage girls .

A reliable source at the airport, who confided in the AbelNews, said that the tow NIS officers were off duty when they committed the crime.

They were alleged to have attempted to traffic six underage girls to Omar and Kuwait aboard Ethiopian Airlines before they were arrested.

The two NIS suspects were arrested at the departure hall of the airport when the duo were seeing off the six underage girls to board Ethiopian Airlines aircraft.

They were also alleged to have attempted to resist arrest, but were over powered by a combined team of security agents at the airport.

AbelNews learnt from one of the security agents at the airport that the two NIS officers have since been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation and prosecution.

The image maker for NIS, Mr. James Sunday confirmed the arrest and that NIS has ordered for a thorough investigation on the matter.

He hinted that the arrested officers would be transferred to the headquarters in Abuja for appropriate disciplinary action.

He pointed out that NIS would not tolerate such indiscipline act among its men.
