
As part of efforts to comply with the Executive Order as approved by the Federal Government , the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria(FAAN) has disclosed that only six agencies have been approved to interface with passengers at airport terminals in the country.
This was made known in an online statement signed by the management of FAAN and made available to journalists in Lagos today.
FAAN gave the names of the agencies approved to operate at airport terminals to includes: the Nigeria Immigration Service(Arrival and Departure), Nigeria Customs Service(Arrival) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(Arrival and Departure).
Others authorised to operate at airport terminals are : State Security Services(SSS),Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit and Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Services(Cargo Terminal only)
The statement further informed that the Nigeria Immigration Service,Nigeria Customs Service and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency must always appear in uniform and un-detachable name tags
The statement hinted that the SSS is for intelligence gathering while the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit will function on call at the baggage hall.
The statement urged all the affected agencies to ensure strict compliance with the directive.
Recalled that only recently, all the different checks at the terminals were collapsed to one to ensure easy facilitation of passengers.
