RwandAir Acquires Fourth Boeing 737-800 Next Generation, Takes Delivery May 28

RwandAir, the national carrier of the Republic of Rwanda, is to take delivery of another brand new state of the art Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft equipped with in-flight connectivity

According to a statement by the airline, the new aircraft will land in Kigali on May 28 at 16hrs (ETA) .

RwandAir added that the delivery of the Boeing 737-800 Next Generation on the above date will bring to the total number of aircraft the airline has in its fleet to 12.

The statement stated that the delivery of this aircraft delivery was part of the lease agreement signed in December 2015 between RwandAir and Aircraft Lease Corporation, an American based lessor to acquire two additional brand new dual class Boeing 737-800NG, adding that the first was delivered in November last year.

Speaking on the impending delivery, Chief Executive Officer of RwandAir, Chance Ndagano, said, “This aircraft will be RwandAir’s fourth of its type. It comes to enable new connections on the continent and beyond, as the airline continues to foster economic exchange between Rwanda and the rest of the world.”

The new Wi-Fi connected Boeing 737-800NG is configured in a dual class cabin comfortably seating 16 passengers in Business Class and 138 in Economy Class.
