…Government Declares 3 Days Of Mourning

The ex Governor of Niger States Engr. Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure has passed on.
His death was announced by the Government of Niger States today.
According to the state government he died after a brief illness in a Germany hospital on Sunday evening at the age of 61.
The state government, who spoke through the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Jonathan Vatsa, in a statement disclosed that the state government has declared a -3 -day mourning period for the late Kure and that flag should be at half mast in the state throughout the mourning period.
The Commissioner also stated that the state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello had declared a work free day on the day of the burial of the former governor to enable all Nigerlites accord the departed leader the last respect .
The state government said that it will miss the wise counsel of the former governor, who despite political differences never fail to offer meaningful advice to the government, adding that the intervention of the former governor during the recent labour crisis in the state was not only legendary but showed that he is an elder statesman, whose main concern was for the good, progress and unity of the state.
