As part of its annual social responsibility programme tagged “Together as One” the Four Points by Sheraton Lagos has visited the Vigilant Heart Orphanage Lekki Lagos to show them love.
An online statement by Communications Manager, Nigeria, Nanji Tyem stated that during the visit, the Founder of the orphanage Mrs. Maria Osawemen took officials of the hotel on a brief history of the formation of the orphanage.
The Spokesperson added that the founder narrated how she got the inspiration some years ago to care and support the motherless, orphans and abandoned children and how the name “Vigilant Heart” was coined by her husband to mean a loving heart is a vigilant heart.
According to Nanji Osawemen also took time to explain the process of legally adopting a child as well as registering an abandoned child when found.
The Director of Human Resources on behalf of the hotel and the team of volunteers made valuable donations of food items, provisions and nonperishable items for the upkeep and maintenance of the home.
Osawemen, who was elated with the donations, said the hotel has given the kids the hope to survive with our gift and contribution.
The hotel volunteers later in the day took some children within the age range of 3-20 years on an excursion to the Mindscapes Children Museum in Lekki.
The children were also taken round the environment to experience creativity, play and lifetime learning of various forms.
