Governor Of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki has appointed Justice Esther Ikponmwen’s as the Chief Judge of Edo State.

Justice Ikponmwen’s appointment is however subject to confirmation by the Edo state House of Assembly.

The governor in a letter to the State House of Assembly stated that the appointment followed the recommendation of the National Judiciary Council (NJC).

Obaseki urged the House to confirm the appointment Justice Ikponmwen as the Chief Judge of the state.

Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly Hon. Justin Okonoboh, who read the letter of the governor at plenary today subsequently, referred the letter the House Standing Committee on Judiciary.

He tasked the committee to present the report at next Plenary of the House for consideration.
