Shocker: NIMET Acting Director Claims Two Birth Places In Employment Forms
…Allegedly Participates In NYSC 9Yrs After Graduation
There were indications that the next Tsunami in the aviation industry may occur at Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), following the discovery that the agency’s Acting Director, Administration, Mrs. Ijeoma Agbontaen laid claim to two birth places in the employment forms she filled.
A document obtained by abelnewsng.com revealed that Agbontaen who was hired as the Deputy General Manager, Human Resources, Grade Level 16, on August 17, 2015 initially claimed to have been born in Enugu State in ‘Form Gen 69B’ (her letter of application for employment) and her certificate of age declaration.
Agbontaen later secured the certificate of State of Origin of Edo State, claiming to be born in Benin City on August 27, 2015.
The document also revealed that Mrs. Agbontaen graduated from the University of Benin in October 1986, but did not state when he took part in the compulsory one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
However, the document further showed that she afterward fraudulently attached to her documents her participation in the NYSC programme in 1995, nine years after graduation.
A petition which Abelnewsng.com stumbled on written against Mrs. Agbontaen by a highly dependable in source the agency and sent to one of the leading aviation unions in the industry, alleged that Agbontaen fraudulently backdated her Letter of Acceptance of the job to January 24, 2015, instead of August 17, 2015 the day she was issued the letter.
Apart from that , the embattled Acting Director in her application for employment claimed that she had never work for any government agency.
However, her Curriculum Vitae (CV) revealed that she worked in the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) between 2002 to 2007 and at various capacities.
According to a source, “Mrs. Ijeoma Agbontaen’s CV never recorded any evidence of having participated in the NYSC even when she secured an NYSC certificate in 1995, nine years after her first degree in 1986. It is unusual to have participated in the NYSC nine years after graduation.”
“Agbontaen who has not been able to provide evidence of her work experience still on probation and is not qualified to hold the position of the Deputy General Manager, Human Resources GL16, is presently the Acting Director, Administration even when there are two very senior General Managers GL17 in the department. She calls for meetings that the GM’s are expected to be in attendance in her office.” The source alleges
In the petition, the Acting Director was also accused of being above the 50 years old, since she was born on January 5, 1965and that the she have been given a contract job instead of a permanent employment .
Abelnewsng.com learnt that as result of the petition and the discovery, the union that received the petition may any moment from now be calling on the Aviation Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika to carry out surgical operation in NIMET.
Abelnewsng.com further learnt that the union will be telling the minister to extend what he did at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), which saw some of its staff either demoted or sacked to NIMET.
