…Says We Have Not Cancelled Flights In The Last Five Years
As part of efforts to ensure that their international passengers are flown to their different cities in Nigeria; destinations on time and safely, when they arrive the country, RwandAir, said that it has started discussing partnership with a domestic airline.
Rwand Air, Country Manager, Ibiyemi Odusi disclosed this at an interactive session with travel agents and trade partners in Lagos.
Fielding question on whether the airline has the plans to partner with any domestic airline to distribute its international passengers on arrival in Nigeria at interactive session with travel agents and trade partners today in Lagos,
Odusi stated that Rwand Air was presently discussing with a local airline, whose identity she did not disclose but added that the airline would make it public when the time comes.
On the criteria RwandAir would use for partnering with any local airline, she disclosed that for Rwand Air to partner with any local carrier, the airline must be safe and must have International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification; in essence must be IOSA certified just like RwandAir.
The domestic airline must also be reliable just like RwandAir, have good performance, on time departure record and must have professionalism.
Other criteria according to the Rwand Air Country Manager is that that the domestic airline must have a similar mission and vision with RwandAir and must be able to fit into Rwand Air core corporate value.
On the number of aircraft in the airline’s fleet, Odusi ,She told the travel agents that the East Africa based airline has eight aircraft in its fleet and that the brand new Airbus 330—200 series acquired some hours ago brings the total aircraft to nine.
She appealed to the travel agents to help the airline in convincing the passengers to fly the airline, adding that the airline on its part will continue to unveil products that would enhance the travel experience seamless, affordable and pleasurable.
According to her, “RwandAir on time departure is not negotiable and we also promise to give the best service and to remain competitive.”
She disclosed that for the past five years the airline has not cancelled any flight, adding that the feat was not an easy one.
Her revelation attracted commendations from the agents, who agreed in unison that the airline was ready for competition.
The interactive meeting which the Country Manager described as interesting saw some of the travel agents appealing to the airline to let them have very striking unique reasons to sell the airline, adding with the airline’s very new airplanes the sky would be its limit.
The travel agents commended the airline for its performance, on time departure, adding that as far as paying commission is concerned RwandAir is the best.
Over a hundred travel agents from Lagos attended the interactive August meeting.
