FAAN Fire Fighters Avert Fire At Lagos Airport

Men from the Airport Fire and Rescue Services Department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) averted what would have been a raging fire incident at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, following their quick response.
An online statement signed by the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mr Yakubu Dati, explained that a quick response by men of the Airport Fire and Rescue Services Department averted a fire incident at the airport.
He further explained that the incident, which occurred at the E-Wing on yesterday at about 1100pm did not affect flight operations, adding that preliminary investigation indicates that the fire emanated from the electrical control panel.
Dati added that FAAN engineers, who have restored power at affected areas, are working round the clock to restore normalcy.
The FAAN spokesman advised members of the public disregard comments and statements by people, who may want to exploit the situation to create unnecessary panic.
According to him, “The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria wishes to apologize to all travellers and airport users for inconveniences caused while assuring them of their safety and security. “
