The Federal Government has appointed the Chief Executives of six information-related agencies under the Ministry of Information and Culture.
The appointment is coming more than three months after Federal Government sacked the Directors-General of NTA, Mr. Sola Omole, FRCN (Mr. Ladan Salihu), VON (Mr Sam Worlu), NOA (Mr. Mike Omeri), NBC (Mr. Emeka Mba) and the Managing Director of NAN (Mr. Ima Niboro)
The appointments were announced in Abuja by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed on Wednesday in Abuja.
A statement by the SA to the Minister of Information and Culture Segun Adeyemi, in Abuja listed the names of the new Chief Executive officers to include: Mr. Ishaq Modibo Kawu as the Director-General, Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mr. Mansur Liman, Director-General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and Mr. Yakubu Mohammed, Director-General, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA)
Others are Dr. Garba Abari, Director-General, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Managing Director, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)and Mr. Osita Okechukwu, Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VON)
The new CEOs replace the ones that were sacked by the Federal Government February 15, 2016.
The statement explained that the appointments take immediate effect.
