The Conseilliere Regionale of Reunion Island Faouzia Vitry and the Cultural Director of the island Sophie Jasmin met this morning with Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange to discuss inter –Island cooperation.
The two Islands; Reunion and Seychelles delegations discussed the firming-up of a working programme, which they hope would be formalised in the coming weeks, when President Didier Robert accompanied by Mme Vitry will be in Seychelles with a working delegation.
The two countries also discussed Tourism, Culture and Trade as well as air connectivity.
Mme Vitry and Mme Jasmin, who are the official representatives of Reunion Island at the 2016 edition of the Carnival International de Victoria, were also present at the talks.
Present also at the bilateral meeting was the Chief Executive Officer of Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Naiken and the island’s Conseillere Regionale, Lynda Lee Mow Sim, who came with a large cultural delegation.
Reunion has a population of 843,617 as at 2015, while Seychelles has a population of roughly 93,000 and has the smallest population of any independent African state.
