Le Meridien Ibom Hotel Celebrates Women In March
Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort is celebrating women in March with lots of sponsored activities to give back and empower women for all that they embody.
These activities according to the hotel includes: free golf clinics, free health and fitness activities, free skin and hair therapy/ tips to give back and empower women for all that they embody.
Commemorating the activities were a musical concert ‘Night of Classics’ featuring the singing bird Patience Ekwerre, who belted out classics like:”Water Never Dies no. 13 by G. F. Handel, O Mio Bambino Caro (O my beloved father) by Giacomo Puccini AND EineKleine Nachtmusik by Mozart – Orchestra
Others are “Love Changes Everything from the musical “aspects of love” by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black Climb every mountain from sound of music by Rodgers and Hammerstein amongst others.
The event was colorful and filled with surprises and the Red carpet started at 6pm while the main event kicked off at 7pm.
A United Nations Peace Ambassador, Unyime Ivy King and Dr Onofiok Luke, who delivered keynote speeches celebrating the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women further stated that the quest for gender equality was not a quest for supremacy or seeking undue authority over men but simply an insistence on equal treatment for fellow humans who happen to be women.
Onofiok demanded for equal opportunities for women at corporate establishments and the outlawing of obnoxious cultural practices such as a woman drinking of bath water of the corpse of her late husband to prove her innocence and the female organ mutilation.
She stated that the practice should be stopped if these practices do not apply to men.
At the event, Le Meridien Ibom displayed her brand signature of sparkling cocktails with alcoholic and nonalcoholic contents specially brewed to celebrate women’s month.
Each glass of sparkling ordered was accompanied with a free Le Meridien Éclair another signature ‘chic treat.
The event was graced by people from all walks of life including members of the legislature wives association, Christian women organisation, members of the Julius Berger community, in-house guests of Le Meridien Ibom and residents of Uyo metropolis.
