As the Easter celebration approaches, the management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured members of the public, especially passengers and airline operators, that necessary operational and security measures have been put in place at airports in the country to ensure hitch-free passage of passengers and cargo during the festivity.
This was made known in an online statement made available to journalists by the General Manger, Corporate Affairs, Mr Yakubu Dati.
Easter is a festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Dati stated that passenger facilitation at airports has also been enhanced by the installation of more modern and bigger conveyor belts and metal walk-through detectors.
He further disclosed that the expansion and modernisation of all the airport terminals in the country now provide better ambience for passenger facilitation and commercial offerings.
Dati, who wished passengers safe and enjoyable Easter celebrations advised make use of the online portal to book their flights and not to attempt to carry unauthorised item while travelling.
According to him, “Passengers are hereby advised to take advantage of online portals to book their flights ahead of time and avoid carrying unauthorised items. The Close Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) mounted around the airport vicinity is to aid the joint security efforts”.
“Furthermore, travellers are encouraged to leave home early on their travel dates, in order to complete their boarding facilities in good time”. He further advised.
