Arik Air, one of the leading domestic airlines in the country has stated that the limited supply of JET A1 also known as aviation fuel across the country in the last few days has greatly hampered its flight operations.
The Public Relations and Communications Manager, Adebanji Ola, disclosed this in an online statement made available to journalists.
The Arik spokesman lamented the scarcity of aviation fuel has affected its operations to the extent it has made the airline to either delay or cancel flights.
“With over a hundred flights daily, this limited supply of aviation fuel has resulted, regrettably, into flight delays and sometimes outright cancellations.”Adebanji said
He continued, “We appeal to our valued passengers to bear with us at this time even as we remain committed to providing safe and comfortable flight experience.”
Adebanji apologised for any inconvenience the airline’s passengers may have suffered due to the fuel shortage.
However, investigation by AbelNews revealed that other airlines were not affected by the scarcity.
