Abuja High Court Grants Metuh Bail

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted the National Publicity Secretary of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Olisa Metuh bail
Metuh is answering a seven-count criminal charge that preferred against him by the ‎Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been in Kuje prison.
He was granted bail in the sum of N400 million and he is also expected to provide two sorties with N200 million each .The sureties must have properties in Maitama Area of Abuja.
Both sureties according to the court must be resident in Abuja and should swear affidavit of means with two passport photographs.
The embattled PDP spokesman was also ordered to deposit his travelling documents with the court.
The charge against the PDP chieftain according to EFCC has to with alleged money laundering, breach of trust and criminal diversion of public funds.
‎The anti-graft body had alleged that the accused person had in November, 2014, received the sum of N400 million from the former National Security Adviser( NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki(rtd).

The fund which was alleged withdrawn from an account the Office of the NSA operated with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN and was allegedly transferred to Metuh through account no. 0040437573 that Destra Investments Limited operated with Diamond Bank Plc.
‎EFCC had ‎told the court that though the fund was siphoned to boost campaign activities of the PDP, it said that Metuh diverted most of it to his personal use.
EFCC further alleged that Metuh converted ‎part of the money to $1 million that he used for his personal business.‎
