
The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Engr Saleh Dunoma has said that the partnership between FAAN and the Airports Council International (ACI) will enhance skills and the performance of FAAN Airports.
He said this while signing the Memorandum of Understanding between FAAN and ACI in Montreal, Canada.
Dunoma explained that the partnership would facilitate identification and closing gaps to achieve the executive leadership’s goal of airport certification.
The MOU was signed by the Director General of ACI world, Angela Gittens for airport body while Engr Saleh signed for FAAN.
Speaking on the development Gittens expressed delight in FAAN’s commitment to the realisation of this partnership.
According to her, Nigeria being the largest economy is taking its proper role in championing this critical aspect.
The signing ceremony is an outcome of the recently concluded ACI Airport Excellence in Safety (APEX) reviews, aimed at identifying and closing gaps to achieve the executive leadership’s goal of airport certification
The occasion was witnessed by the Director Safety and Technical policy, Ministry of Aviation, Capt Alkali Talba, Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt Muktar Usman, Head Nigerian Mission to the International Civil Aviation Organisation(ICAO), Martins Nwafor, General Manager, Airport Planning and Technical Services, Ms Nse Ikiddeh, Deputy General Manager Operations, Yusuf Mohammed Kabir and other top management of the aviation agencies.
The team from ACI was supported by Danny Boutin, Senior Manager APEX programmes and Head Global Training, Kevin Caron.
