Carnival Calabar To Launch Theme At Akwaaba

…As exhibitors scramble For Space
Carnival Calabar, Africa’s largest street party will on Sunday 22, November launch its 2015 theme at the opening day of Akwaaba African Travel Market in Lagos.
This is just as exhibitors from all over the world scrambled for the few available space.
Delegates at Akwaaba from all parts of the globe will have a taste of what to expect in Calabar in December this year.
The launch of the event theme carnival in Lagos will be hosted by the Executive Governor of Cross-River state-Prof. Ben Ayade, supported by the Chairman Carnival Calabar Band Associations, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa.
Bringing delegates from all over the world to witness the unveiling is part of the vision of the governor of the state to internationalise the people’s carnival.
Meanwhile, in view of the large number of international visitors to Akwaaba 2015,has chosen First Business Logistics Limited, a subsidiary of Sky Blue Services Nigeria to offer visitors a better travel and logistics experience on arrival at the Murtala Muhammed Airport(MMA),Lagos.
First Business Logistics limited, a travel and aviation services solution provider offers a wide range of services including flight ticket and hotel reservation, travel concierge and protocol and logistics services as well as aviation services.
On the other hand, Skyblue will handle airport protocol for international visitors arriving international wing of the MMA, Lagos for this year’s event.
However, as the event day draws near, there are indications that top brands have started scrambling for the few available spaces to exhibit their products due to the space constraint for this year.
For example Kenya Tourism Board, Rwanda Development Board, Rwand Air, Air Maroc, Golden Tulip Hotel, First Business Logistics, Radisson Blu, Sierra Leone, Ethiopian Airlines, Whispering Palms have joined the list of Exhibitors for Akwaaba 2015.
Checks revealed that the Kenyans will be arriving with a cultural troupe to showcase Kenyan culture while the Atunda ENT promoted by La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort will also be entertaining guest at this year’s event.
The organisers of the event has stated that due to space constraint, most exhibitors had to be dropped and that the yearly event would be held in the same venue as last year’s event, which is smaller than the usual venue.
But they assured that enough space would be provided for the 2016 edition to accommodate more exhibitors.
The organisers also revealed that 2016 signup forms would be available during the events to enable more exhibitors’ signup early and prevent last minute delays, as many exhibitors could not be accommodated this year.
The Executive Governor of Sokoto, Rt Honorable Aminu Tambuwal will be the Chairman at the African Travel Awards and Dinner.
Tambuwal would be accompanied by the Commissioner of Commerce, Industries and Tourism, Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Bello.
According to the organisers, the African Travel Awards is one of the high points of the three-day travel event and that it will be on day 1of the event;22nd November from 7pm.
