The outgoing Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Immigration in charge of Zone A, Ikeja, Lagos, Mohammed Alfa has advised men and officers in the Command to always be committed to the duties assigned to them.
This is just as he also urged them to be loyal to constituted authorities.
He made these statements while giving a valedictory speech shortly after inspecting a Guard of Honour mounted by officers of the Command at the Zone, Ikeja, Lagos, today.
Alfa, who was very elated retiring after 35 years of meritorious service at NIS , said that he thanked God for making a day like this possible , adding that he has been waiting for this day to come.
He also commended the Comptroller General of NIS, Muhammad Babandede for not only giving him the opportunity to serve but also for introducing innovations into the service, adding that the CG has always been a source of courage to him.
“Today is a special day. I have been waiting for a day like this.. I have every reason to give thanks to God. The fact that I am standing and speaking to you is enough to thank God.
“NIS has given me opportunity to grow ,has trained me and by the special grace of God I will give thanks to God
“I want to give thanks to the Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede. He has been my mentor, source of courage and source of pride,” he said.

He urged men and officers in the Zone to cooperate with the new ACG, Doris Braimah to further move the Zone forward.
He prayed that by the grace of God those who sat for the promotion examination will come out in flying colours and further make the Zone proud.
On her part, the incoming ACG, Doris Braimah while making her inaugural speech said that the former ACG has done very well and that she as the new ACG will continue from where he stopped.
She urged officers of the command to follow the template of the Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede and also follow the rules laid down by NIS , adding that by doing this they will add value to the service.
Braimah noted that Babandede’s record is rich, as he continues to come up with innovations to move the service forward every moment.
She also commended the Comptroller General of Immigration for the several innovations he brought to the service and for making NIS technology driven organisation.
She advised officers and men of the service to key into the vision and mission of NIS since they are all aware of it, adding that by doing so the agency can move to a greater height.
