Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has approved the appointment of Barrister Nnamdi Anyaehie as Chief of Staff, Chief Oguike Nwachukwu as Chief Press Secretary/Media Adviser, Chief Cosmas Iwu as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Barr. C.O.C Akaolisa as Attorney General.
The appointments take immediate effect.
Recalled that Uzodinma was sworn in on Wednesday by the Chief Judge of Imo State, Justice Pascal Nnadi with his team of over 30 judges from the state judiciary
In his inaugural speech, Uzodinma described his victory as ‘rare’ and a reminder that God is faithful and does not abandon those, who according to him trust in him.
He promised to reposition Imo State’s economy and make it better.
He also ordered the immediate probe of his predecessors and three former governors of the state which includes: Emeka Ihedioha, Rochas Okorocha and Ikedi Ohakim.
The Supreme Court had on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 sacked Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of Imo State and declared Hope Uzodinma, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the duly elected governor of Imo State.
The Supreme Court in a unanimous judgment by a seven-man panel of justices led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad held that Ihedioha, who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was not duly elected.
