N3.97B Case: Badeh Forfeits Six Properties, $1M Cash To FG

The Federal High Court yesterday in Abuja convicted and ordered the late former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh to forfeit six properties and about $1 million cash to the Federal Government

The court also ordered the immediate winding up of a company, Iyalikam Nigeria Limited also belonging to the former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS)

Justice Okon Abang ordered the forfeitures after a plea bargain entered by the company linked with the former CDS, Iyalikem Nigeria Limited with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The former Air Force Chief was initially arraigned in March, 2016 on 10-count charges, but was on July 4, 2018 re-arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja on amended 14-count charges bordering on criminal breach of trust, abuse of office and money laundering valued at N3.9billion, alongside Iyalikam Nigeria Limited, a company believed to be linked with him.

The forfeited assets includes

1, A mansion at No. 6, Ogun River Street, off Danube Street, Maitama, Abuja

2, A shopping mall at Plot 1386, Oda Crescent Cadastral Zone A07, Wuse II, Abuja

3, A duplex at No. 19, Kumasi Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja

4, A duplex situate at No. 14, Adzope Crescent, off Kumasi Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja

5, A semi-detached duplex situate at No. 8A, Embu Street, by Sigma Apartment Wuse II, Abuja

6, The sum of $1,000,000.00 only recovered from No. 6, Ogun River Street, off Danube Street, Maitama, Abuja.
