…Passengers, Workers Delighted
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has installed chillers at the Arrival Hall of the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
With this latest development, arriving passengers, who often times complain about the none functioning of the air cooling system or chillers in the hall will now heaved a sigh of relief.
AbelNews gathered that it was the first stage of total overhaul of the cooling system, as FAAN plans to extend the chillers to the Departure Wing as soon as possible to give passengers the right experience.
The online news platform further learnt that the newly installed chillers were commissioned February 12, 2019 and immediately put to use.
When AbelNews visited the international wing of MMA to have a first information about the cooling system, it was observed that the chillers were working at optimum level to the extent that workers working in the Arrival D and E as well as people around the lobby were clad in cardigans.
Recalled that there have been series of complaints about the malfunctioning of the cooling system, which lead to passengers lamenting on arriving the terminal
Kenyan Airways and RwandAir passengers arriving the terminal reacted to the development.
A passenger, who identified himself simply as Daniel spoke to the online platform, said the cooling system was a welcome development but urged the airport managers to ensure that it is well maintained and does not go bad or be allowed to get spoilt.
“Look, my brother, I have travelled this airport on numerous occasions and this is the first time in years that I step out of the aircraft and feel like I am still in a lush environment. In fact I feel the same sensation as if I’m still in the aircraft and although this is quite nice, they need to maintain it so it doesn’t get bad. Maintenance is key,” he said.
AbelNews gathered that FAAN intend to extend the installation of chillers to departure and other section of the terminal.
