Organiser of Akwaaba African Travel Market has stated that it would collaborate with US based Africa Diaspora Awards to organise a conference of Africa; Africa Diaspora Tourism Conference.
There has been strange relationship between Africa and it’s Diaspora over the years and they need each other in a complimentary way but have not worked out how to relate each other.
According to organiser of Akwaaba Travel Market, tourism could be the sure way to build a sustainable relationship.
The conference will take place on September 23, 2019 as part of the 15th Akwaaba African Travel Market in Lagos.
Speaking on the collaboration, the Executive Director of Africa Diaspora Awards, Kitty Pope said, “I am so excited to be a part of this project and 2019 marks the 400 years of the Trans-Atlantic slave Trade. This event finally reconnects Africa and its Diaspora in the right way through Travel and Tourism.”

This collaboration with Kitty Pope and her organization will help energise collaborations across the seas.”
