He made this known shortly after he received a delegation from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and officials of the Federal Ministry of Health at Ubiaja.
The LGA boss also said that the body of one of the casualties has not been recovered from the flooded area.
Emuakhagbon explained that 42 communities, 8,000 houses and 35,150 persons were affected by the flood.
He lamented the time of response by the agencies responsible for emergency, urging them to have a change of attitude by ensuring that those mandated to implement specific responsibilities do their bobs.
He also called for effective measures against natural disasters such as flooding.
The time, the Chairman, added has come for those saddled with responsibilities that affect Nigerians to focus more on long-term plans rather than short-term solutions.
According to him, “We are reacting to the crisis in the same old ways by adopting quick fix, temporary approach, thereafter; we all go home and relax until it happens again.”
