Develop Creative Talents, Convert Them To Opportunities Lalong Tells Youths

Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong has advised youths in the states to take advantage of the Jos carnival to develop their creative talents and convert them into opportunities for self employment.

He gave the advice at the end of the Jos Carnival procession which began with a 5 km walk which he led.

According to Lalong, the goal of the administration is to reduce human sufferings by uplifting the quality of life of vast majority of the people.

“Ours is a promise to create opportunities not just for those with the money and influence, but for every Plateau citizen who desires to lead a meaningful and productive life, “he said.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Commissioner of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Tawmakat Weli said the peaceful atmosphere created by the rescue administration has attracted participants and tourists from within and outside the country.

She commended the organisers for the efforts made in putting the Jos Carnival together, promising that next year will witness tremendous improvements.

An online statement issued by the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Yakubu Dati explained that the Carnival featured cultural displays, group choreography and spectacular displays by youths.

He added that the Carnival attained it climax with the arrival of Governor Lalong, which was followed by a colourful convoy of bikers who displayed their skills.

The event was rounded up with a grand performance by the international artiste, Ice Prine Zamani to the delight of fans at the Jos township stadium, venue of the event.

The Jos Carnival which started two years ago has gained traction as a major event on the tourism calendar of the state.
